中国农历传统上将一年分为24个节气，现在已经进入小寒。小寒是第23个节气。小寒是表示天气寒冷程度的节气，是一年中的寒冷时期。

每年这个时候，寒潮来袭，气温骤降，在此期间，雪，雨和寒冬天气会对人们的生活产生非常大的影响。

今天小编想和大家聊一聊关于寒冬的那些事儿。

　　寒潮来袭

　　寒潮来袭时会造成气温急剧下降，并伴有大风和雨雪天气。在英语中经常用cold snap，cold wave，cold spell，polar outbreak等词组来表达“寒潮”。

　　寒潮是指强冷空气侵袭时的强降温天气过程，一般多发生在秋末、冬季、初春时节。当范围很大的冷气团聚集到一定程度，就会大规模入侵，形成寒潮天气。

　　"Temperatures are expected to drop further as a blast of icy air sweeps in from the north and west. A large part of China will be affected including most central and eastern parts and even parts of southern China. Some parts of China will experience a series of changes in precipitation, including rain to sleet and sleet to snow. "

      寒冬有多冷

　　形容寒冷的词有很多：

　　crisp 干冷干燥的

　　raw 非常寒冷的

　　bleak 阴冷的

　　biting 刺骨的

　　harsh 严寒的

　　icy 冰冷的

　　bitterly cold 令人感到痛苦的冷

　　同时，我们也可以这么表达寒冷：

　　There is a real nip in the air today.

　　今天寒气袭人。

　　I'm frozen stiff.

　　我简直冻僵了。

　　The cold front is taking its toll !

　　寒流正在发威！

　　It was bone-chilling in the morning.

　　今天早上冷得刺骨。

　　It's brass monkey weather today.
